  • At the invitation of Tagore Society Singapore once again, Rigchhandam's latest production 'Khudito Pashan', based on Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore's story, performed in Singapore in May 2012. The production incorporates elements of Rabindrik, Kathak as well as Contemporary dance forms.
  • Senior dance member Sujoyini Mandal, currently at Harvard Kennedy School, organised cultural items for Diwali 2011 at Harvard University.

  • ‘Down Memory Lane’: 7th August, 2011: At the invitation of Tagore Society, Singapore, Subhra Mandal performed along with her students, to Rabindrasangeet  sung by one of the foremost exponent of Rabindrasangeet, Srabani Sen. All the dances were conceptualized and choreographed by Subhra Mandal and Sujoyini Mandal.

  • 'Sharq Taronalari': Rigchhandam was honoured to be invited to perform at this world-renowned Music and Dance Festival held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, from 25 - 30 August 2011.

  • Senior dance member Sujoyini Mandal performed on 1 October 2011 in Boston, USA, at the invitation of Boston Bengali Association.
  • Choreography of Pandit Jayanta Bose’s ‘Music o Mime’, performed on 2nd December, 2010, at Kala Mandir, Kolkata. Choreography and Dance Direction: Subhra Mandal. The dances were performed by the Senior Section of Rigchhandam.
  • ‘Nari’ was performed at Bankura at the invitation of Bankura Club on 5th December, 2010.
  • Dance Director Subhra Mandal conducted a Dance Workshop ‘Thirak 2011’ at Singapore, on 8th & 9th January 2011.
  • ‘Anando, Alaap o Angina’: To commemorate the 150th year of Kabiguru’s birth, Rigchhandam organized an evening of dances, Rabindrik as well as Folk, Creative and Classical. The venue was Gyan Manch, Kolkata, and the date was 1st May, 2011. Please view the videos and photos from this program.

  • The junior students performed at ‘Rabindra Utsab’, at Rabindra Sadan on 4th May, 2011. This event was a collaborative venture of Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, West Bengal Govt. and Shishu-Kishore Academy, W.B. Govt. and was organized to celebrate the 150th birth anniversary of Tagore.
  • 8th May 2011: Bengali Association, Singapore, performed ‘Bhanusingher Padabali’ in Malaysia, at the invitation of Bengalee Association, Malaysia. Sujoyini Mandal, senior member of Rigchhandam’s dance troupe, and now based in Singapore, took a leading role in the production.

Sujoyini Mandal, senior student of "RIG-Chhandam" and now working at Singapore, took part in the Kathak Dance Recital 'Shahjahan', held on 26.03.10, at Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore. She choreographed and directed the participants from Singapore.The presentation was greatly appreciated by all.

Performance of ‘Nari’ at Singapore

Once again, at the invitation of Tagore Society, Singapore, our organization performed ‘Nari’, at DBS Arts Centre, Singapore, on 8th May 2009, to celebrate ‘Womanhood’ (Nari) on the occasion of Rabindranath’s birth anniversary. We presented a bouquet of songs and dances based not only on Tagore’s songs and poetry around the theme of “Woman”, but also selected from the vast repertoire of Indian ethnic and folk songs and dances. The performance, needless to say, was a resounding success.


2008 Program at Singapore
: At the invitation of Tagore Society, Singapore, on the occasion of the death anniversary of Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore, our school performed ‘Mukti’ on 31st August, 2008 at Singapore Repertory Theatre. The program was a resounding success.

• November 2003: Our first Annual School Program held at Vidya Mandir, Kolkata. Rabindranath Tagore’s celebrated Dance-Drama Kal Mrigaya was performed, in a Kathak arrangement.

• December 2004: St. Xavier’s College auditorium: ‘Dances of India’. Traditional folk elements as well as Indian classical dance styles incorporated in this presentation. The theme of Rabindrasangeet presentation was ‘O Amar Desher Mati’.

• April 2006: Rabindrasadan: A Kathak Conceptualization (including the highly appreciated ‘Makhan Chori’) and ‘Thali Kathak’: Participants stand on the edge of brass ‘thalis’ and take part in ‘Sawal Jabab’ with tabla. Rabindrasangeet section performed the theme ‘Western influence on Rabindrasangeet’.

• Aban Mahal: 7th January 2007: Parents’ – Teachers’ Meet. Students demonstrate the creative freedom that has been inculcated in them by their faculty.

• Children’s Festival (The Festival of Joy) at Satya Sai Baba Prasanthi, Purtapurthy: 22nd October 2005. Our school faculty was given charge of preparing participants from seven states for this prestigious event.

• 08/01/08: Madhusudan Mancha – ‘Basanta Jagrata Dware’ & ‘Prayash 2008’. The theme: Rejoice at the coming of Basanta kal together with the Festival of colours; Kathak performed to the accompaniment of Ganesh Vandana, Thungri and Bandish.

• 2004: ‘Poila Baisakh’ Celebration at Calcutta Club.

• ‘Rotary Centenary Year” celebrations: ‘Arghya’
