About Us
"RIG-Chhandam" a cultural wing of South Jodhpur Park Academy (SJPA), founded in 2003 by renowned Rabindrasangeet exponent Shrimati Srabani Sen and Shrimati Subhra Mandal, disciple of Kathak legend Birju Maharaj as well as Shrimati Amala Shankar, doyen of Uday Shankar ‘Creative’ style of dance.

At the invitation of Tagore Society Singapore once again, Rigchhandam's latest production 'Khudito Pashan', based on Kabiguru Rabindranath Tagore's well-known short story, was performed in Singapore on January 12, 2014. The production incorporated elements of Rabindrik, Kathak as well as Contemporary dance forms. The program was a resounding success and highly appreciated by all.

Teaching Kathak, Bharatnatyam, Creative Uday Shankar style & Fusion, Western & Modern.

Teaching Rabindrasangeet, Classical, Voice Training.

August 2006: A small room is taken on rent by SJPA on the outskirts of the city, namely, Kalitala, Joka, and classes start in full swing, every Saturday, teaching dance, music and drawing to 22 underprivileged students.
